Tesla CEO Elon Musk and VW CEO Hebert Diess joined each other for a special meeting where Diess gave Musk a preview of the ID.3 and ID.4 electric cars.
Just yesterday the Next Avenue reported that Elon Musk had arrived in Germany for his first visit to Giga Berlin since construction began. Musk received full support from the German government with German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Peter Altmaier saying “We are very proud of your car plant in Brandenburg and we wish you good luck with that. You’ll have every assistance you need.”
Upon arrival Musk was greeting by fans and enthusiast alike at the site. The CEO took a brief pause to speak to some of the fans as well as some media and even dropped a couple of comments regarding plans for a core structural design change to the Model Y. The CEO also mentioned Volkswagen, telling fans outside Giga Berlin he thought Volkswagen was doing a lot for electrification.
What we thought would be his last stop during his visit to Germany, Musk left Giga Berlin and landed at Braunschweig Airport. An airport that is primarily used by Volkswagen to meet with Hebert Diess.
Via Handelsblatt “When Elon Musk’s private jet, the “Gulfstream G650”, took off from Berlin-Schönefeld Airport on Wednesday at 9:17 pm, everyone thought: The Tesla boss’s visit to Germany is over. But only 26 minutes later the plane landed at Braunschweig Airport. The reason for the stopover was a visit to VW boss Herbert Diess.”
Although there was no information released regarding what the meeting was about, it was confirmed by a VW that the two CEOs did in fact meet and Musk was given a preview of the ID.3 and ID.4 at the airport.
