September turned out to be a record month for Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng with the delivery of 3,478 P7 sports sedans and G3 compact SUVs.
It may not seem like a huge feat as it is only 145% more than a year ago. However, it allowed Xpeng to increase its Q3 volume to 8,578 (266%) thus achieving another new record.
The growth can be attributed mostly to the newly launched P7 which arrived to the market this past June. Xpeng managed to deliver 2,573 P7 units in September alone and 6,210 total in Q3.
It is also important to give some credit to the company’s G3 electric SUV which had 905 deliveries in September and 2,630 in Q3.
With sales growing, Xpeng is focusing on expanding its manufacturing capacity. The company is expected to complete a new plant in Guangzhou by December of 2022. Construction of the plant just recently began.
