Tesla Gigafactory 4 in Grünheide, near Berlin in Germany, continues its rapid construction pace as seen in a new video posted to the_wolfpack_berlin YouTube channel.
Following in the footsteps of Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai, which took less than a year to complete its first stage, the construction of Gigafactory Berlin is being completed at an impressive rate. Giga Berlin is expected to be completed by July 2021 in part thanks to an “early permit to build the foundation” the company received in late May 2020.
However, we can not forget probably the biggest contributing factor to the speed of Giga Berlin’s construction: prefabricated elements. Using pre-fab building methods allows for the reduction of time and labor by making parts of a new building offsite, then installing them on site.
Giga Berlin is set to produce the Model 3 and Model Y starting in 2021, as well as batteries and powertrains. See the progression of Giga Berlin in the video below:
