Dacia, the low-cost Renault brand, will launch its first electric car in early 2021 despite the crisis in which the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is currently mired. This group has been forced to restructure after the hard blow that is assuming the economic consequences derived from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dacia Spring will be based on the Renault City K-ZE currently sold in China, which in turn is the electric version of the thermal Renault Kwid sold in markets such as India or South America. Located in segment A, the Spring will differentiate itself from other urban models by its attractive SUV aesthetics, similar to that of the successful Sandero Stepway.

The vehicle will measure 3.73 meters long and will have an approved passenger compartment for four passengers. Although its rates have not yet been confirmed, several leaders of the Renault Group have stated on various occasions that the small vehicle will have a price of around 15,000 dollars. This will make it one of the most affordable electric cars in the world.
