On this week’s episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage” (10 p.m. Wednesday, CNBC), Leno meets up with Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk and gets a real treat when he takes the yet-to-be-released Cybertruck out for a spin.

Yes, Leno meets Musk at Tesla’s Hawthorne headquarters and the maverick tech entrepreneur puts the comedian behind the wheel of the distinctive — and massive — electric vehicle, which isn’t expected to be available until late next year.

Leno immediately expresses his admiration for the Cybertruck’s “instant acceleration” and he “loves how open it appears to be.”

But what modifications will the vehicle need? Musk says the body will have to be reduced by about 5 percent to fit in “a normal garage.”

When Leno wonders why the body of the Cybertruck has been made to be bullet-proof, Musk quickly replies with a smile, “Because it’s bad ass and super-cool … We want to be a leader in apocalypse technology.”
