The NHCC Plans More Than 4k Fast Charges by 2030

The National Highway Charging Collaborative, formed by ChargePoint and National Association of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO), are planning to build more than 4,000 fast chargers by 2030. The plan is to invest more than $1 billion in funding sources over the next ten years to encourage the public to buy electric cars.

The investments should raise private and public money: “Enabling long-distance electric travel and equipping rural areas with vital universal charging is key and must begin scaling aggressively today,” he said in an interview. “This collaboration will play an important role in paving the way to the mass adoption of EVs.”

“It appears clear that the next generation of fuel is going to be electricity, so we want to make sure that our members are prepared to meet the needs of their customers,” since the number of electric vehicle owners is growing worldwide. ChargePoint operates more than 108,000 charging points globally, and most of them are in North America. The company estimates that 70% of the EV market will be in the U.S. as well.
