All-electric Fire Truck

The Menlo Park Fire District has shown an new all-electric fire truck. This is the first of its kind, and it will belong to the fire department before the end of 2021.

Some questions concern the department, such as how much is going to be the monthly costs, will the battery run out of energy? Also, how about the charging infrastructure for this truck? Most of the questions or concerns are based on myths and a lack of knowledge about the situation of the electric vehicle.

The Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhoumansaid that: “I’m not concerned about that and I’ll tell you why — because we, in the design phase, we’ll make sure that we don’t have a single point of failure.”

This electric truck will be saving the fire department since it will help them manage the budget issues since it has a low maintenance cost.
