10 Reason Why Rivian R1T is Better Than the Cybertruck

Rivian, the new great automotive startup bet, unveiled the R1T, the world’s first electric adventure vehicle. Here are some reasons why Rivian R1T is better than the Cybertruck. Check it out!

#1 Performance – The truck brings a quad motor system with a 147kW with precise torque control to each wheel, where you can have great control of each part of the vehicle on-road and off-road.

#2 Platform – The one and only Rivian platform packages together with the battery pack, suspension, drive units, braking, and thermal system all in the skateboard look-alike base, just in the height of the wheel. It brings the possibility of more space in the place where the gas motor should be.

#3 Luxury Car – The design of the Rivian R1T is clean, with horizontal LED bars running through both the front and back cover on the outside and the inside welcoming occupants in a premium environment. It uses wood with a natural finish, showing a cozy interior. Cybertruck follows a way more minimalist style, both on the inside and outside.

#4 Battery and Charging – Rivian R1T got the bests results in the category in its group since this car has been made to face demanding journeys. The battery is designed for fast charging rates. Range EPA – 644 km
Battery pack capacity – 180 kWh
Max charging power (AC) – 11 kW
Max charging power (DC) – 160 kW
Avg. charging speed (DC) – ~401 km/h

#5 Apple Carplay and Android Auto – Rivian R1T is loaded with integrating technologies. This is evident in the robust touchscreen interfaces on the vehicle, from the large center console in front to a smaller 6.8-inch touchscreen at the back, where passengers can set their preferences for features such as climate control.

#6 Radar Systems and Dual Lidar – Five radars on the car and Rivian explains that both the R1T and the R1S will be capable of Level 3 Self-Driving on highways. The company has equipped the R1T with cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors, high-precision GPS technologies, and Lidar. Cybertruck still has cameras for Autopilot.

#7 Release Date – Rivian is planning to go for first deliveries in late 2020. Cybertruck will take more than two years to start sales.

#8 USB-C Ports, 110v outlets, and air compressors – At the back of the Rivian R1T pickup truck bed lies a set of 3 USB-C and 3 110V outlets, which would be an invaluable feature for owners who love to camp outdoors (the feature pretty much makes the R1T into a giant power bank). The built-in air compressor will also be useful for owners who are transporting bikes and inflatables during trips. (Cybertruck has a 220 and 110 outlet along with an air compressor).

#9 Standard rack – This car has a standard pick-up shape, so you can use your kayak, bikes, and tools racks, all of them will work with the Rivian’s standard truck design instead of being specially made for the Cybertruck’s new look.

#10 Active life and family vehicle – Rivian’s CEO, RJ Scaringe said that this car is perfect for those who want to join the family outdoors. It has a lot of storage for both, bringing comfort, power, and design.
