Along with the already expected costs from the carmaker, Tesla will charge its customers for the usage of data inside the EVs. After around 7 years of free connectivity, it seems like it is about to come to an end.

In a report by Electrek, drivers of Tesla vehicles announced that there is a data usage counter on the screen now, that goes up to 50 GB. Even though the connectivity has not yet been charged, this is a step towards doing so.

Elon Musk’s carmaker announced the 2 different types of connectivity, as pointed out by Electrek:

No actual cost for the packages were revealed, but to new Tesla owners, beware of the new costs that will add up when purchasing this EV.
