What is the Best Cruising Speed for Tesla Model 3

Studies made on the Tesla Model 3 show the optimal speed to cruise with the car to achieve the best autonomy.

On a long distance trip, it is essential to know what could be the best way to drive and extract most of the car’s speed related to its range. We want to go as fast as possible and go as far as we can.

Prioritizing the fact that the stops for a fast charging usually don’t take an average time, the study says it might be better to only charge the vehicle up to 70%.

On his Youtube channel, Bjorn Nyland uploaded a video testing the Tesla Model 3 and collecting data. It concluded that the best speed would be of 190km/h (118 mph), but considering that not everyone will use Autobahn to got work, the best option would be of 150 km/h (93 mph) with a charge of 70%, as said before.

Another option presented is cruising at 130km/h (81 mph), since there is not a lot of difference of speed from the previous option and fits better European and U.S Highways, where the speed limit can be strict.
