Volvo just announced a new all-electric bus during the UITP Global Transport Summit happening in Stockholm, from the 9th to the 12th of June.
The Volvo Electric 7900 can carry around 150 passengers, and its size goes from 18 meters to 18.7. The two different options for charging the vehicle is via fast-charge stations at the end of the route, and an overnight charging at the depot using CCS. In October 2019, during Busworld exhibition, in Brussels, the vehicle will be officially announced to the public.
Even though this reveal is big news to the Electric Vehicles market, the Volvo 7900 has been on the road for a couple of months now. Since June last year, 2018, is being tested in Sweden, specifically on route 16, Gothenburg. The bus has run more than 4,500 hours around 62,000 kilometers.
Volvo is already known for its hybrids on the market. Now, the 7900 will be joining the fleet of the Swedish company.
